There are bands for whom every album is a step into the unknown. There are others whose development is a reliable and consistent expansion of their terrain. The latter applies to the Icelandic band ADHD.
It is almost impossible to describe their concerts using traditional musical parameters. A performance by these four Vikings is always an all-encompassing ritual, a magic potion, an incantation dance and a natural phenomenon. When ADHD are on stage, the average Central European mortal gets at least a vague idea of how the islanders in the far north of Europe have managed to survive the long and icy winters over the centuries.
This unbridled flow of human vibration, which transcends all boundaries of the genre, fascinates jazz fans as much as rock fans or ravers.
At OPEN JAZZ VIENNA, ADHD celebrates the release of their ninth album “ADHD9” (Enja)
